Breaking automation

Breaking automation, but why? Wut you mean bruh? Well, idk just sounds like a good title... That quirk is part of what makes hand written articles and content fun again, imo.

Not sure if im becoming a boomer but the ai and automation takeover of everything is starting to be annoying. Take for instance customer service at any online shop or company, its virtually non-existent. Fill out a form and wait, well, hope and pray for a response thats not a cookie cutter bot reply. Definitely sounding like a boomer... lol. But idk, something about a service or vendor taking your money and having lax at best urgency when you have a inquiry or dispute.

It's like... why am i giving these people money, no one seems to work there... Social media ironically is horrible with support as well. Which is funny, like the whole point of the site is communication... amongst people. Yet if you are suspended, over charged or just need something fixed on your account its like pulling teeth to get some where.

Personally im starting to revert from the creeping hostile takeover of automation. Instead of using a template, framework or cms like wordpress; i coded this site with just the old Lamp stack, minus the m. No need for a database to post text and maybe some images here and there. I saw it a lot during web dev days, some clients would need to automate everything little thing you can think of. And for what? Sites that are all now defunct... Automation straight to zero.

Shamefully search results have also fallen victim to ai and automation. Literally every top post is the same copy pasta ai generated blob to push ads. In my era, we could not get approved for any advertising if the content was not original and handwritten. Back then google actually cared, well kinda. In those days we lost out a lot to our bros in the east, ironically google favored non-Us based devs and marketing campaigns which is a whole' nother can of worms. Anyways, to see so much lack of effort and originality on the web nowadays is saddening to anyone over 27 years old.

Art is probably suffering the most, artist are being replaced by ai each day. One of my favorite vtubers, who is an artist by trade, shared her dismay over the situation. Bots replicating her art but adding weird artifacts, almost like an overlay to the work. People that stare at art a lot can usually tell the ai vs human difference but for marketing and consumer related stuff those people rarely care about source or integrity. Which puts the human out of commission work or market share prospects.

Between you and me anon, im guilty of using the bing ai image generator a lot during meme production for twitter. You can tell though what is a layered work versus the ai posts easily though. My stuff is kinda schizo with layers and noise while the ai memes were simple for speed. Some nft artist do not care to add any filters or layers however, numerous collections on Solana recently for example are just ai generated and shipped for mint. And man... if anyone in a gc mentions its an ai grift they get trolled, kicked even fudded later on...

Again, i know i sound like a boomer... lol. i remember back when we thought the idea of a bot listening to you in the house was cringe asf. Yet here we are, 'hey siri'... 'alexa'... do stuff for me that i can easily do meow...

My approach, just start doing things the slow, by-hand way again. From coding, mixing a playlist, writing an article and wutevs you do. When everyone is a bot or ai wizard you get weird situations like the casino on Solana. Everyone using bots... that trigger bots to sell... when other bots sell...at 20k market cap.... all day... everyday... Why not pick a good plays and hold a bag instead, like uwu or gcr. Solana's volume would suggest we can all eat... yet... Look wut muh bot do.

You may be old enough to remember when etsy actually had a marketplace for people that crafted handmade stuff. Management gave into greed a few years back and started allowing automated drop shipping api's, on top of ai marketing and the like. Completely rekt'd smaller vendors that actually ran their campaigns by hand from home.

And who cares, right?

Gotta make that money, right?

But what if, hear me out, people start rejecting this current meta. Pulling back from social media wastelands. Creating by hand, expressing passion for what they like and do. Not using grok or the like... What if more devs wake up to the current network state, and start just writing in their favorite programming languages again without github repo dis or what framework you use bro?!?!

What if writers put down the ai and push away the keyboard, and pick up a pen or pencil. Imagine if people starting reading and writing in cursive again? As you may know, in the west feds phased out cursive script in schools as it makes you an individual. Plus its kinda hard for ai and bots to accurately read each unique person's cursive handwriting. So many examples of how bad our degradation is becoming. Automated consumerism. Perhaps im just getting old and bitter, clinging to what was.

But, im not anti-futurist or progress. Just a millennial dev that has seen enough movies, articles and stuff about the Terminator or irobot situation... Or Space Odyssey if you like the older stuff. Or Walle for younger gens.

I can appreciate the code behind ai/automation though, as a dev i know how much work goes into things working as intended. Guys that write code seem to always to be forgotten, similar to many artists on canvas. The work lives on even though many people that love/use it never knew you existed.

Thinking we need more touch grass balance moving forward, like real communities knowing whats actually going on and not leaving everything to an automated/ai script and federal clipboard. idk though, autistic ramblings about technology while using a compuwuter lol... One thing about practicing change is not being a hypocrite or pushing an agenda on others that you really don't care enough to exercise etc etc...

Sometimes i guess just getting the ideas out there to those that care or will spread it, is enough. Less of the 'bot maximize profit' mindset, and more human passion for life.
